Triflex - resistant and durable

The building sector has a particular responsibility towards climate protection. This is because it is proportionately the largest contributor to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which are predominantly generated during the construction of buildings. Triflex liquid applied waterproofing systems protect the fabric of the building reliably and sustainably against moisture, the weather, trafficking, chemical, and other environmental influences.

Sustainability at Triflex logos

Thanks to durable systems with long service lives, our high-quality solutions extend the refurbishment intervals significantly and make a positive contribution to the long-term protection of the built environment. With roofing solutions certified by BBA and ETA for 25 years service life, and waterproofing and surfacing solutions with BBA-certified service life of 15 years, we deliver long term protection and value.

Refurbishment instead of new build considerably reduces CO2 emissions, and Triflex systems can quickly and easily be overlayed in the future, further extending their life.

We protect the climate

  • We are dedicated to the efficient use of energy resources. We only purchase green power (electricity from renewable energies) with “North German Wind Energy” certification for the manufacture of our products
  • Triflex systems reliably protect the fabric of the building and reduce the refurbishment cycles - refurbishment instead of new build saves unnecessary CO2 generation
  • Since 2009, Triflex has been a member of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and has been actively involved in sustainable building

We protect the health of contractors and users

  • Product safety is an extremely important issue for us. We are continually working to improve our products and to minimise the use of hazardous substances. For example, we do not use any PFAS compounds in our products
  • We have implemented internal processes that enable reliable tracking of product components and can identify substances assessed as unsafe for humans and the environment even before they are developed. This means that we are already in an excellent position today, even before the new legal regulations of the Green Deal and the EU Chemicals Strategy are implemented
  • Triflex works exclusively in direct cooperation with specially trained contractors. This helps ensure professional and reliable handling of our products

We conserve resources when manufacturing

  • We are dedicated to minimising the generation of waste, emissions and waste water
  • We develop our products in such a way that they impact the environment as little as possible during their life cycle
  • To further improve the quality of our commitment to sustainability, we are assessed by the independent body, EcoVadis. This organisation regularly updates and tightens its requirements

Our supply chain complies with social and environmental standards

  • By carefully selecting raw material suppliers, we assure and increase the quality of our supply chain. New partners and existing suppliers are evaluated for their sustainability performance. In addition to a supplier self-disclosure form, the external EcoVadis platform is used to gather information
  • Our Code of Conduct, based on our principles and values, expresses the expectations of the Group as an employer and is mandatory when conducting business

Products for sustainable building

Flat roof refurbishment with less waste

Triflex cold liquid applied waterproofing systems are highly compatible with almost all substrates, meaning that nearly all existing substrates can be overlaid. Rather than removing and replacing the entire build-up, our overlay systems allow for the installation of new waterproofing systems directly over the existing membrane. This approach reduces construction waste, minimises disruption to building occupants, and is more cost-effective than full roof replacement.

Thermal upgrades can also be incorporated with consideration of Building Regulations Approved Document L. The systems can also be overlaid again in the future easily extending the life of the roof with minimal future environmental impact.

Ideal for green / blue roof solutions

Heavy rain, storms, heat and drought - the prevalence of adverse climatic conditions is increasing and influencing how we shape our built environment. Green / blue roofs are making an important contribution to climate compensation. Thanks to their ability to absorb / attenuate rainwater, they can contribute to storm water management and provide a form of sustainable urban drainage system.

The new function brings with it new waterproofing requirements, which our PMMA-based solutions are already meeting. The Triflex ProTect system provides seamless, homogenous waterproofing which is hydrolysis resistant, ensuring lasting structural protection as part of a green / blue roof build-up. Triflex roofing systems are root and rhizome resistant in accordance with FLL as well as being biocide-free.

Walkways, balcony, and terrace refurbishment efficiency

Triflex cold liquid applied waterproofing systems provide exceptional waterproofing while minimising disruption to building occupants. Ultra-rapid curing, isocyanate and solvent free, and available in a range of colours and finishes, our overlay solutions enable fast and efficient refurbishment.

Designed for durability, they offer excellent point load resistance and crack bridging, ensuring long-term protection. Highly compatible with asphalt and many other substrates, Triflex solutions allow for the refurbishment of walkways, footbridges, external stairs, and balconies without the need for wasteful strip-outs, making them a sustainable and effective choice.

Multi-storey car park refurbishment with reduced environmental impact

Triflex rapid curing, cold liquid applied waterproofing, surfacing and protection systems offer proven durability for lasting peace of mind. They minimise the project duration contributing to a more sustainable project, and with no hot works, energy use is reduced. Combining outstanding waterproofing, chemical resistance and dynamic crack bridging (where required), they deliver long term structural protection. Our Triflex ProPark system for example has a BBA certified service life in excess of 15 years.

Our cold liquid applied PMMA systems offer exceptional compatibility. They can be applied not only to concrete but also directly onto existing asphalt - over 2 million m² has been overlaid in the UK - and even steel decks. Unlike conventional methods that require removing existing coatings from concrete (which reduces vital concrete cover and generates landfill waste), Triflex systems can often be applied as an overlay. This approach preserves concrete integrity, minimises disruption, lowers costs, and reduces environmental impact. At the end of their initial service life, Triflex car park systems can be simply refreshed through overlay.
